Since she was young, Amy always loved decorating and taking pictures. What started out as an Instagram account to share home decor, was met with an enormously positive response in such a short time period! The Instagram influencer market is powerful and she’s thrilled to be a part of this powerhouse platform. It’s been an exciting adventure. Launching an online retail website, becoming a brand influencer and partnering with large brands like eBay, have kept her busy. Modern Farmhouse Glam’s audience is 94% women, in the top five cities of Phoenix, New York City, Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami. Connecting with and inspiring other women with a similar passion for home decor, design, and entertaining has been rewarding beyond measure.

As a graduate of  Pennsylvania State University Amy started her career as a sales rep in the pharmaceutical industry.. She then owned an assisted living group home for the elderly. Amy is also a realtor and commercial actress in addition to running the Modern Farmhouse Glam brand. Modern Farmhouse Glam inspires thousands every day, with GLAM ideas for home and life.

Amy’s love for decorating and creating started as a young kid. She started decorating as something fun that she did in friends' homes and then with her kids, it was then she decided to share her ideas on social media. Two years ago, her and her husband built their dream home and Amy’s passion for decorating really took off and so did her Instagram! She was able to connect with so many women across the globe that shared her interest in home decor.

Soon after starting her Instagram Amy was able to build brand partnerships which brings her many sponsorships as well. Affiliate linking is also another way Amy generates income within her business; through linking furniture and decor items in her home she is able to build commissions.

Growing up Amy wanted to be a doctor and a Mom. She decided to go to Penn State for Health Policy Administration, and realized instead of being a doctor she preferred to be involved more in the business end of it. In her senior year of college, she was recruited by Pfizer and she became a drug rep for the next 10 years until she decided to start a family.

Setting up her aesthetic on Instagram was a learning curve, she had to learn new skills through taking photos and styling. Amy wasn't afraid to get in there and try to learn new things.

The biggest challenge for Amy starting out as an entrepreneur was fear of the unknown. Amy shares that sometimes it's hard to try to figure out stuff you don't know, and you have to be willing to get in there and do the grunt work , it's amazing how much information you can learn about on YouTube and online.

Everything is new when you are an Entrepreneur, and there are different parts of your business that you don't have a clue about but once you get in there and figure out how to tackle unstructured problems you become an expert in that area and you have confidence for the next step.

Amy shares that being persistent and knowing when to take a break is very important because things will get overwhelming and you start to second guess yourself.

The time that you have is finite and you may have a million ideas but Amy says that sometimes you just have to sit back and write everything down and figure out what is your highest and best use of time, and prioritize!

Amy suggests tackling the big goals for the day first so by the time lunch comes around it feels a bit easier. And knowing when to take a break and recharge creatively is an important skill to have.

What Amy is most proud of overall are the relationships she has built with her followers, which are really special and important to her. Through her online highly niched group she has been able to make friendships and connect with other women on the internet with similar passions that otherwise she wouldn't have been able to do. It has been so rewarding to help these women decorate their houses and give them the confidence to be able to decorate and make choices for their homes.

Another big win in business for Modern Farmhouse Glam was having the opportunity to partner with eBay!

Ebay reached out to Amy very early on, which took her by surprise! She worked on a project with eBay which helped to show Amy that she had value and something to offer her followers and brands. This gave her the confidence to reach out to other brands and from there things really started to take off for Amy.
